Gaza: Young people rally in protest at Abbas’s threats
A youth group on Tuesday staged a sit-in in Gaza City in protest at the recent remarks made by Palestinian Authority president Mahmoud Abbas on Gaza and his threat to take further punitive measures against its population.
Addressing the participants, spokesman for the Graduates Movement Ahmed Abu Ras said that Abbas’s speech contained considerable hatred against Gaza and its people and was aimed at weakening the marches of return to be organized soon at home and abroad.
Abu Ras called on the Egyptian sponsor of the reconciliation process to unveil all the details related to the file of the Palestinian reconciliation.
He urged the Palestinian people from all spectra to take to the street and stand up in the face of Abbas’s decisions, stressing the need for forming a national salvation government that can provide the Gaza population with their legitimate rights.
