Syrian Army engages ISIS as it attempts to advance in southern Damacsus
The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has been engaged in fierce combat with the Islamic State (ISIS) forces inside the southern parts of Damascus this month.
Units from the Syrian Arab Army have been relentless in their endeavor to seize the Yarmouk Camp and Hajar Al-Aswad, despite heavy ongoing resistance from the Islamic State forces.
As shown in the video footage below, the Syrian military has been forced to rely heavily on their tanks in a bid to press forward against the ISIS terrorists that are tasked to beat back their assault.
These close combat engagements have been prevalent throughout the battle for southern Damascus, as the condensed buildings require Syrian Army troops to enter nearly every site they encounter.
