Iran condemns armed attack on Venezuela’s Supreme Court, Interior Ministry

Pointing to political developments and intensifying tensions in Venezuela, Ghasemi said the Islamic Republic stresses the strong ties of friendship with Venezuelan nation and government, while condemning the recent attack on the country’s Supreme Court and the Interior Ministry.

“Iran condemns illegal and violent acts against legal and legitimate bodies, which not only complicates the situation in the country but toughens the process to reach an agreement and settle issues through dialogue and negotiation,” he added.

Avoiding violence and turning to dialog in a peaceful situation without foreign interference is the best way to resolve rifts and serve the interests of all Venezuelan people, Ghasemi noted.

On Tuesday, a Venezuelan police helicopter strafed the Supreme Court and the Interior Ministry.
