Syrian Army uncovers large weapon cache with Israeli-made rockets in Daraa

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) uncovered a large weapons cache in southern Syria, Saturday, while combing through the Al-Quneitra and Daraa provinces.

According to a field report from southern Syria, the military uncovered a large quantity of weapons that were left behind by the jihadist rebels that once controlled these areas in the Al-Quneitra and Daraa governorates.

A field commander told the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) on Saturday that the uncovered weapons included shoulder-fired missiles, Israeli–made rockets , local-made rocket launchers, 23mm heavy machine guns, 120 mm mortar launchers, explosive tank shells, large amounts of munitions, rifles, PKCs machine guns , 12,7mm munitions as well as RPGs Israeli-made and Israeli-made cars.

Protective equipment, telecommunication devices, rocket and machine guns –launching-pads, night vision binoculars, anti-tank weapons were also found among the weapons and ammos, the commander added.

The Syrian Arab Army are still combing through the areas once controlled by the rebel forces in southern Syria; they expect to find more warehouses and weapons as they proceed further.
