Iranian Scientists Produce Polyester Fibers for Biomedical Uses

12 January 2019 19:53

Iranian researchers at Amir Kabir University developed a new type of polyester fibers with applications in biomedicine and production of synthetic leather.

Project CEO Neda Aziziha explained that the project, “production of porous polyester fibers by using sodium chloride and studying its features” was conducted by researchers at Amir Kabir University of Technology.

“The main reason for the production of polyester fibers was their high absorption of humidity and low cost,” she said.

“The results of this research can be used in textile industry, filtration, synthetic leather, production of composites and biomedicine,” Aziziha said.

Biomedicine is a branch of medical science that applies biological and physiological principles to clinical practice. The branch especially applies to biology and physiology.

Biomedicine also can relate to many other categories in health and biological related fields.
