30 injured in pro-Aqsa marches on Gaza border areas

Huge demonstrations were launched after Friday prayer on the eastern borders of the Gaza Strip in rejection of the latest Israeli measures imposed on al-Aqsa Mosque.

Nearly 30 Gazans, including 6 paramedics, were injured after the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) attacked the demonstrators with live bullets and tear gas canisters.

Spokesman of the Gaza Ministry of Health, Ashraf al-Qedra, said that two ambulances were partially damaged after they were deliberately targeted by the IOF.

Deputy head of the Hamas Political Bureau in Gaza, Khalil al-Hayya, demanded in a speech ending security coordination between the Palestinian Authority and Israel.

Hayya urged the closure of the Israeli embassies in Arab countries in response to the Israeli practices against al-Aqsa Mosque.

The Hamas leader, Hammad al-Raqeb, called on the Muslim masses to assume their duties toward their third holiest site, adding, in a message to the Israeli occupation, that al-Aqsa is a “red line”.

For his part, the leader of the Islamic Jihad Movement, Darweesh al-Gharabli, affirmed that the Palestinian resistance factions will not remain silent vis-à-vis the ongoing Israeli violations at the Aqsa Mosque.

Protests will continue throughout the day in support of al-Aqsa Mosque and the Jerusalemite worshipers who refuse to enter the Mosque via the metal detectors newly erected at its entrances.
