5000 Syrian refugees flee Al-Zaatari to Daraa

A Syrian source has reported that 5 thousand Syrian refugees in Al-Za’atari refugee camp have returned to Daara leaving the Jordanian territories, thus; the number of refugees who came back to Syria from Jordan increases to 55 thousand in recent months.

SANA news agency has reported the source as saying” most of the people who returned to their homeland, went back through un-official crosses because the Jordanian authorities had seized all their personal documents and that the Syrian government will immediately issue ID cards and other personal documents for them as soon as possible”. The source reiterated that the government has called upon all of the refugees who departed through un-official crosses to come back through the official crosses again.

Some refugees in Jordan have mentioned lately that Jordanian authorities tried to stop them from going back because they make up a good funding source for the government that confiscates more than 70 percent of the food allowances, and that the Jordanian Security doesn’t let them leave the camp unless 200 dollars are paid. Refugees also said that they live in harsh circumstances and that is beside the inhumanity they are faced with by the Jordanian authorities.

Jordanian security forces used tear gas the day before yesterday what caused several injuries among the refugees after stopping by force a family that decided to flee the camp. This incident forced the refugees to clash with the Jordanian security forces, the thing that caused 5 refugees to pass out after inhaling tear gas and other refugees to be arrested.
