60 countries attending The 28th International Quranic Competitions

The 28th International Quranic Competitions will open in a ceremony on June 29 to be attended by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

The secretariat of the Quranic Contest on Recitation and Memorization of the Holy Book said.

Secretary of the Quranic Competitions, Ali Mohammadi said that the contests are the greatest Qura’nic event in the Muslim world are of higher status in Iran, because the competitions on recitation and memorization of the Holy Book have made valuable achievements in promoting Qura’nic culture and unity among Muslims.

He noted that the competitions will be held in three categories of reciting, memorization and article writing.

The elites of the Quranic studies from 60 countries have come to Tehran to attend the contests, Mohammadi said.

He said that the secretariat of the event will select and award the best articles from among 520 forwarded from Iran and nine foreign countries.
