7 people wounded in knife attack in Paris, ‘no early sign of terrorism’

Police in France say they have arrested a knife-wielding man who wounded seven people in an attack in central Paris.

Police said early Monday that the man, also armed with an iron bar, stabbed seven people, including two British tourists, near a cinema on the banks of a canal in the northeast of the French capital late on Sunday night.

The injured were all taken to local hospital, where their conditions were described as “serious but not life threatening.”
