A dangerous chemical gang destroyed in Iraq

Iraqi Defense Ministry says a terrorist gang which was planning for chemical attacks on Iraq and other European and American cities have been destroyed.
The media adviser to the Iraqi Ministry of Defense, Mohammed al-Askari said in a press conference that “the security forces in Ministry of Defense have identified and monitored the five-member terrorist gang from the very first moment.”

Within three to four months, gang members had created two workshops in Baghdad, and in another province, to manufacture chemical weapons.

“This terrorist gang, was receiving its plans from Al Qaeda outside of Iraq, and had a special plan to focus on Sarin, nerve and mustard gases,” he added.

He reiterated: The gang members, before their arrest, were planning to carry out attacks inside Iraq by using a remote-controlled aircraft.

He also pointed to confessions of those arrestees, commenting on the connection of this gang with outside terrorist networks in one of the neighboring countries, to strike targets in Europe and North America.

Al Askari said: “it was with the cooperation of internal and external intelligence apparatus, that we destroyed the terrorist gang, arrested its members and expose their plots.”
