A mass rally in Gaza in solidarity with prisoners

Several national and Islamic factions organized on Friday afternoon a mass rally in the northern Gaza Strip in solidarity with Palestinian prisoners in zionist Israeli jails.

The demonstrators marched after noon prayers from al-Awda Mosque in Jabaliya and roamed the streets of the city chanting slogans denouncing the Israeli Prison Service’s policies and urging Arab and international support to end the suffering of Palestinian prisoners.

Mustafa al-Duqs, member of the central leadership of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, said in a speech he delivered during the rally that the prisoners are the key symbol of the conflict at this stage and that the hunger striking detainees were paying the price for defending Palestinians’ homeland and freedom.

Al-Duqs urged the resistance factions to take the initiative and use all available and possible means to free all the prisoners.

He also stressed the need to activate the issue of prisoners by launching solidarity campaigns supporting them.
