Lebanese resistance movement, Hezbollah, says one of its commanders, Hassan al-Laqqis, has been assassinated near the Lebanese capital, Beirut.

Hezbollah has blamed Israel for the assassination.

“Direct accusation is aimed of course against the Israeli enemy which had tried to eliminate our martyred brother again and again and in several places but had failed, until yesterday evening,” Hezbollah said in the statement.

“This enemy should bear full responsibility and all the consequences of this heinous crime,” Hezbollah threatened.

Thousands of people have joined the funeral procession of a Hezbollah commander who was assassinated outside his home in southern Beirut.

The mourners chanted slogans such as “Israel, you are the enemy of Muslims. America, you are the great Satan,” blaming the Zionist regime and Washington for the killing.
Hezbollah has blamed Zionist regime for the assassination.

The funeral was attended by a number of Hezbollah officials and the crowds of the resistance public.

The martyr’s corpse had been moved to the shrine Sayyeda Khawla, the daughter of Imam Hussein (AS) as it was held to the final resting place.
