Afghan governor, his family members slain in Jowzjan

Armed men in Afghanistan have slain the northern Jowzjan province’s governor, his wife and daughter.

The incident occurred on Friday a week after militants killed an Afghan local policeman and four members of his family in an attack on their house in the northern Faryab province.

Last Friday, militants broke into Mohammad Saleem Mirab’s house in the village of Dong Qala, which is located in the Almar district of Faryab province, and killed him, his wife, his daughter, his 25-year old son, and his daughter-in-law.
