Ahmadinejad : ‘Justice, freedom spreading world over’

Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says nations have awakened and the justice- and freedom-seeking front is on the rise across the globe.

The Iranian president made the remark in a meeting with his Surinamese counterpart Desire Bouters in the Nicaraguan capital, Managua, on Wednesday on the sidelines of the inauguration ceremony for the third term of Nicaragua President Daniel Ortega.

The Islamic Republic of Iran considers no limitation for the expansion of ties with freedom-seeking nations and governments and believes such ties will help in promoting justice, President Ahmadinejad added.

Genuine justice-seeking efforts bond nations beyond regional and geographical boundaries, he emphasized.

The Iranian chief executive reiterated that the world nations should make efforts to promote freedom, justice and human dignity.

Although a minority of self-centered and extremist individuals exert mounting pressure on independent nations, we will proceed with our efforts to help establish justice and freedom in the world, he said.

Bouters, for his part, said the economic crisis in European countries and the US reflects an emerging collapse of their economies.

The Surinamese president called for the expansion of ties with progressive countries such as Iran on regional and international developments.

Iran’s President Ahmadinejad arrived in Nicaragua on the second leg of his Latin American tour on Tuesday.

He kicked off his five-day Latin American tour in the Venezuelan capital Caracas on Saturday.

During the four-nation trip, President Ahmadinejad will also visit Cuba and Ecuador for talks with senior officials of the two countries on the expansion of bilateral relations.

The US warned Latin American states on Friday against expanding diplomatic and business ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran, expressing concern over “Iran’s outreach to the Western Hemisphere.”

Leaders in all the four Latin American countries have in recent years built up diplomatic and trade ties with Iran, while their relations with the United States have been greatly reduced in response to popular demands for an end to dependence on Washington.
