Al-Hakim meets with French ambassador in Baghdad

The head of SIIC, Ammar al-Hakim confirmed that “The solution to the current crisis in the country requires a cooperation in a spirit of realistic and flexible and meet the legitimate demands in accordance with the Constitution and the law.”

Hakim said, during a meeting with the French ambassador in Iraq Deen Goyer, according to a statement of the Supreme Council that: “The internal problems and political crises impede Iraq to play real and effective role in alleviating regional crises and contribute to the solution.”

He added that he is conducting contacts and meetings with political leaders and clerics as well as tribal leaders to contain the crisis, adding: “The Iraqi National Alliance is working seriously for calm and dialogue in order to speed up the solution to the current crisis.”

For his part, Goyer praised the al-Hakim’s role and his efforts to end the current crisis, stressing his country’s keenness to sustain the democratic process in Iraq, in which promote stability in Iraq and the region.
