Al-Jafaari: Most of terrorists who didn’t leave Homs are foreigners

The French, British and U.S. delegations to the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) provide curtailed information and exploit the council with respect to the situation in Syria, Syria’s Permanent Representative to the UN Dr. Bashar al-Jaafari has said.

In a press conference held after the end of the closed-door consultations held last night about the situation in Homs city, al-Jaafari added that the American-Franco-British mixed diplomacy is strange and rejected as they focus only on the so-called old Homs and forget the Turkish-backed terrorism against Kasab.

” There are numerous errors committed by the UNSC member states and the staff of the Secretariat of the Council who didn’t provide the Council with sound information to enable it to take appropriate action, ” the representative said.

Al-Jaafari said ” They take the Council in the wrong directions just as they did 20 years ago with regard to Rwanda and repeat the same mistakes they have committed in Iraq, Libya, Lebanon and Somalia and now they want to repeat them in Syria, ”

He stressed that they exploit the council to achieve hideous agenda targeting sovereign states at the UN .

The Permanent representative stressed that the Syrian government, a few months ago, allowed 2700 civilians and gunmen to leave old Homs and now they are living in safe areas.

“At the same time the government asked the remaining 170 civilians to leave the city, but they refused either because they are relatives of the terrorists, or because they are exposed to pressures those terrorists,” al-Jaafari said.

He demanded the UNSC to take measures that put pressure on governments that finance terrorists in Syria.

“The Syrian people do not want press releases from the Council but they want new measures that exert pressures on those governments that fund terrorists in Syria and drove them to stop helping them to cross the borders,”

Al-Jaafari pointed to the involvement of some governments in shedding the Syrian blood touching upon what was written by Seymour Hersh about the use of chemical weapons, as well as the leaked records for a meeting in the office of Turkey’s Foreign Minister as it became clear to everyone the Turkish government’s involvement in destabilizing Syria and shedding the Syrian blood.

He said that, currently, there are 170 civilians and about 2000 terrorists in old Homs, stressing that most of the terrorists who refused to come out of the city are foreigners and this is the reason why the French and British delegations focused on the situation in old Homs for protecting those terrorists.

He stressed that the responsibility of keeping international peace and security does not fall only on China and Russia, but it is the responsibility of the 15 UNSC members. Al-Jaafari held the United States, France and Britain responsible for aggravation of the situation in Syria.

Al-Jaafari stressed that, contrary to the U.S. government’s claims on supporting a political solution in Syria, it has facilitated, as all know, delivering anti-tank missiles to terrorist groups which were designated as terrorist entities on the UNSC lists.

He stressed that no one can provide the terrorist groups with U.S weapons without a green light from the United States and that both Qatar and Saudi Arabia are ready to finance as well as the Turkish government and Jordan facilitate training the terrorists to be sent to Syria across the borders.

Al-Jaafari stressed that the UNSC is managed in a trite manner that doesn’t befit the peace and security standards, stressing that everyone knows what is going on of arms smuggling and stealing the Syrian oil by Jabhat al-Nusra via Turkish mediators to be sold to the European Union cheaply.

The veteran diplomat criticized the European Union’s double standards where it claims it is a friend of the Syrian people while imposing economic sanctions on them and bought oil from the terrorists included on the UNSC terrorist entities lists.
