Al-Moallem: More cooperation with Iran to confront conspiracies

20130822-145047_h498598Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al-Moallem said the common determination of the governments and peoples in Syria and Iran to bolster bilateral relations requires more coordination and cooperation.

In a cable he sent to Iranian Foreign Minister Mohamed Javad Zarif congratulating him over gaining the Iranian Shura Council’s trust, al-Moallem reiterated that more cooperation is needed between Syria and Iran in terms of defending the cultural values, the international conventions and the national sovereignty and in rejecting foreign intervention as well as adhering to the goals of and principles of the UN Charter.

He highlighted the friendly and fraternal relations and the common destiny binding Syria and Iran in the face of the common enemy, foremost is the Zionist entity.

Al-Moallem lauded Zarif’s experience and good reputation in the field of international relations, particularly at the UN.

He expressed his confidence that Syria and Iran will continue cooperation in order to be able to enhance their bilateral relations and consolidate their security and stability and those of the region and confront the conspiracies and foreign intervention.
