Al-Qaeda disowns “ISIL” : we are irresponsible for its actions

A number of international news agencies reported that the general leadership of “ Al-Qaeda” disowned the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.
AFP quoted from “Sayat”, a jihadist website , that Al-Qaeda stated in a statement that “There is no connection between the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant and us, stressing that they are “irresponsible for the actions of this militia, which attacked the Syrian opposition groups this year”.
Al-Qaeda clarified in a statement that “they were not informed of the establishing the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant , not even consulted , rather it ordered to stop working on it , therefore it is not a branch of al-Qaeda-affiliated groups , and it has no organized relations with it , and Al-Qaeda is irresponsible for its actions.
Al-Qaeda-linked branches are those announced and recognized by the general leadership. The Head of Al-Qaeda Ayman Al-Zawaheri called on the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) to return fighting in Iraq only , also to reduce the name of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant to the Islamic State of Iraq .
