Alaeddin Boroujerdi: Syrian crisis has no military solution

Chairman of National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of Iran’s Majlis Alaeddin Boroujerdi said on Sunday that Syrian crisis could not be resolved through military intervention.

According to IRNA, addressing reporters in his press conference in Damascus, he said the crisis should be resolved through diplomacy based on Syrian-Syrian approach.
He reiterated other countries such as Iran and the US should help implement this approach,.
On Geneva II Conference, he said no policy should be imposed on the Syrian nation and government. He said Damascus should be free in making decisions in the conference.
He added “We advise the Washington not to fan the flames of war but resort to political means to help resolve the issue. This approach will harm the US political prestige and will be regarded as a negative point for President Barack Obama.”
Boroujerdi said President Obama, the US and those backing terrorism in the region should be held accountable for the catastrophic events underway in Syria.”
Calling on all regional countries to help settle the current Syrian crisis, he said the Islamic Republic of Iran has done its best to hold Syria-Syria talks The MP stressed that, undoubtedly, in case of triggering a full-scale war in the region the Zionist regime will experience its fifth humiliating defeat.
