Aleppo: Syrian Army Wins back Water Pumping Facilities near Newly-Liberated Al-Khafesh

 

The Syrian Army troops continued their advances against ISIL near the newly-freed town of al-Khafseh in Eastern Aleppo, and took full control of the town’s water pumping station.

The army men stormed ISIL’s defense lines Southeast of al-Khafseh town and seized control over stations 1 and 2 that pump water from the region to Aleppo city.

ISIL suffered tens of casualties in the army attack.

The army units also defused 260 bombs each weighing 50kg planted by ISIL terrorists in the liberated water pumping stations 1 and 2.

Field sources in Eastern Aleppo said that the army soldiers continued their advances in areas surrounding al-Khafseh and took back Tal Qawas strategic hill near Tor’at al-Ray close to Lake Assad.

In relevant development in the province on Thursdays, the army troops regained control of the strategic town of al-Khafseh.

The Syrian troops freed the town after heavy clashes with the ISIL terrorists and inflicting heavy tolls on them.

A military source said that the army first retook control of the Western and Northern villages near the town, including Kharbat al-Shabab, Ma’aradha al-Kabirah and Dakhira towns, and then heavily pounded the ISIL positions inside al-Khafseh with missiles and artillery fire.

According to the source, street clashes with the terrorists started after the army’s missile and artillery attacks.

He added that the remaining ISIL members fled towards Maskanah region and the adjacent areas from the South after the army won back control of the town.
