Aleppo: US-Backed SDF Terrorists Killed by Unknown Gunmen in Manbij

 Several Syrian Democratic Forces have been killed in attacks by unidentified gunmen in the city of Manbij in Northeastern Aleppo as tensions have heightened between the SDF and civilians in the region, sources said.

“A number of SDF patrol forces were killed and injured after unknown assailants attacked them and heavy fighting broke out in Manbij city,” sources close to militant groups in Syria said.

The sources noted that a number of unidentified gunmen also attacked SDF bases near a cultural center in Manbij, killing and injuring several SDF forces.

They said that several SDF commanders have so far been killed by unknown raiders.

SDF’s tough measures, including forced recruitment of soldiers in the region, have enraged the local population in Manbij.

In a relevant development on Thursday, a commander of the US-supported Syrian Democratic Forces was killed in Manbij in Northeastern Aleppo.

Media activists in Eastern Aleppo reported on Thursday that a bomb was detonated on al-Jazeera road near Manbij, targeting and killing SDF’s intelligence commander Morad.

Reports from Manbij said that the SDF forces have increased forced recruitment from civilians recently, adding that actue shortage of fuel in the past week has angered the people residing in the region.

Several SDF forces have been killed and wounded in sporadic attacks in the past few days.

Relevant reports said on Tuesday that armed raiders targeted a base of the SDF known as al-Mahkamah in the town of Manbij, killing 3 militias and wounding several more.

The SDF sent more gunmen to the scene following the attack, but, one of the vehicles of the convoy came under attack by unspecified attackers near the town’s general hospital, leaving a number of SDF militias killed or wounded.

Meanwhile, a number of the SDF gunmen were killed by unknown parties in Abu Qolqol region South of Manbij in recent days.
