Ansarullah Leader: Iran Defends Middle East against Zionist Regime

The leader of Yemen’s Houthi Ansarullah movement hailed Iran’s supports for Muslims, saying that the Islamic Republic is defending the Middle East region against the threats of the Zionist regime (Israel), Al-Alam News Network reports.

In a speech delivered on Friday at a ceremony in Yemen marking the International Quds Day, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi pointed to the threats posed to Muslims by Israel and its regional allies, saying that Saudi Arabia is seeking to “hand over the region” to the US and Israel.

“It is only Iran that is defending the region against the threat of Israel’s influence,” he said, adding that Tehran is defending Muslims and Arabs and siding with the Palestinian nation.

His speech came after thousands of Yemeni people poured into the streets of the capital, Sana’a, on Friday to observe the international Quds Day and demonstrate their solidarity with the Palestinian nation.

Yemen’s Quds Day rally was held as a humanitarian ceasefire took hold in the Arabian Peninsula country. Yemenis have been suffering from daily Saudi airstrikes since late March.
