Ansarullah Rejects Hadi’s Conditions for Resuming Peace Talks

Senior member of Yemen’s Ansarullah Movement Mohammad Al-Bokhaiti rejected the conditions set by fugitive Yemeni President Mansour Hadi for the resumption of peace talks.
Al-Bokhaiti’s remarks came in reaction to the recent statements of fugitive Yemeni foreign minister Riyadh Yassin who proposed new conditions for peace talks in Yemen.

“No one from the camp of the fugitive and ousted Yemeni president (Mansour Hadi) can set conditions for resumption of talks,” Anatolian news agency quoted Al-Bokhaiti as saying in a telephone conversations on Tuesday.

He called on all Yemeni political groups to return to the negotiating table and continue their talks under the auspices of the United Nations.

Yesterday, a source close to Ansarullah movement rejected media reports that Hadi would return to Yemen as part of the psychological war launched by the Saudi-backed front.

“Such reports are produced by the media affiliated to Saudi Arabia to boost the morale of the former regime’s remaining loyalists,” the source told FNA.

In sarcastic remarks, the source who is close to the popular movement said the Yemeni people are waiting for Hadi’s return to the country to punish him as a traitor.

“Anyone who accompanies the Saudis in their crimes, the Yemeni people see him as a traitor who will be tried for betraying his/her homeland and nation,” the source added.

The remarks came after Mansour Hadi in a televised speech thanked Saudi Arabia and its Arab and western allies for their support, and hinted at the prospect that he and other government officials currently based in neighboring Saudi Arabia would soon return to Yemen.

Saudi Arabia launched its bombing campaign against Yemen on March 26 in an attempt to restore power to fugitive President Mansour Hadi, a staunch ally of Riyadh.

Hadi stepped down in January and refused to reconsider the decision despite calls by Ansarullah revolutionaries of the Houthi movement.

Despite Riyadh’s claims that it is bombing the positions of the Ansarullah fighters, Saudi warplanes are flattening residential areas and civilian infrastructures.

The Saudi attacks have so far claimed the lives of at least 3,023 civilians, mostly women and children.
