A top Iranian cleric says the Islamic Republic will not negotiate with the US as Washington seeks to make inroads into the Islamic Republic.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to negotiate with any country but America,” as the US seeks to pave the way for its political and cultural infiltration into Iran in cooperation with the Israeli regime, Ayatollah Mohammad-Ali Movahedi-Kermani said in an address to worshipers at weekly Friday Prayers in the Iranian capital, Tehran.

Therefore, negotiations with the US will be “meaningless,” the Iranian cleric pointed out.

He urged Iranian officials to remain vigilant to prevent enemy’s infiltration into the country which he said, if realized, will be a “catastrophe.”

Movahedi-Kermani said the enemy seeks to change the region’s status quo, spread disappointment among Iranians, dominate Iran’s decision-making centers and undermine Islam.

He added that in order to undercut Islam, enemies pursue plans aimed at spreading “Western ideas and values” among Muslim countries.

The cleric made the comments two days after Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei warned about enemy’s efforts to infiltrate into the country under various excuses, saying, “The [issue] of [enemy’s] infiltration is a very important issue.”
