Aoun: ME Christians turn away from West

A Lebanese Christian leader says the US’s double standards toward the countries in the Middle East have disappointed the Christian communities in the region, Press TV reports.

Head of the Free Patriotic Movement Michel Aoun said on Saturday that the Christians in the Middle East have taken a different view towards the United States ever since the September 11 attacks in 2001.

He said the region’s Christians have turned more inward toward the Middle East and further away from the West because of the West’s contradictory policies.

Aoun also addressed a warning by US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton about the Arab World’s uprisings and the threat they pose to religious minorities.

She was actually warning the Christians to leave the region, because in the end the United States is supporting those who are behind the sabotage and those who are creating chaos, he stated.
