Leader Warns of Enemy Attempt to Divide Iranian Nation; Urges Practical Demands

On Tuesday, the 27th day of Ramadan, Ayatollah Khamenei addressed a group of university students and student movement advocates in a speech.

The Leader declared that student activities should not cause divisions among the student population and the nation. He warned that polarization is what the adversary desires. He further stated that demands of students must be reasonable and provide practical, evidence-backed resolutions.

Ayatollah Khamenei rejected the notion that any dissatisfaction concerning the resolution of the nation’s issues is from inside the country, affirming that it is a ploy of the adversary to make Iranians lose confidence in themselves.

He asserted that hardships do not demoralize a motivated young student, but rather, they study and strive to overcome any issues that arise.

The Leader stressed the importance of being informed about the enemy’s intentions and goals, declaring, “The adversary is constantly striving against the ‘righteous front’ by investing money and resources, regardless of whether we comprehend it or not.”

The Leader remarked that the media wishing ill upon the Iranian nation claim that it has abandoned religious faith and revolutionary values, but this year’s Laylat al-Qadr and international Quds Day were more lively than the previous year’s, commemorating the night the Holy Qur’an was revealed to the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).

The Leader posed the following questions in response to a query on the possibility of conducting referendums on national matters: “Can we really hold referendums on various matters within the country? Are referendums used anywhere else in the world? Do the people taking part in the referendum possess the capacity to understand the issue?”

The Ayatollah Khamenei urged Iranian youths to stay steadfast in their commitment to the Islamic Revolution and Islam, and to maintain hope and reason. He also cautioned them, noting that “enemies are fearful of the Iranian youth’s participation, hard work, and enthusiasm.”
