Iranian Army Commander Major General Ataollah Salehi underlined preparedness of the country’s Armed Forces to confront any threat to Iran’s security.
“The Islamic Republic’s Army along with other Armed Forces of the country have always been ready to repel any enemy threat and expansionist desires,” Salehi said, addressing Army commanders in the Western city of Hamedan on Wednesday.

Noting that Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei has always emphasized the need for the enhancement of the level of Armed Forces’ military and religious trainings, he said the Iranian military forces are and should be fully prepared to repel any enemy threat.

In relevant remarks on Monday, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Hassan Firouzabadi lauded the country’s Armed Forces for their watchfulness and preparedness to repel enemies’ threats, and said polls showed that Iranian people rested assured that the country’s military forces would give a crushing response to any possible threat.

“An opinion poll conducted recently by Kherad Institute affiliated to the Iranian Intelligence Ministry showed that 84 percent of the respondents are assured of the appropriate response of the military forces to the enemies of the Islamic Revolution and the country,” Firouzabadi said, addressing a conference on crime prevention in Tehran.

He noted that Kherad Institute has recently conducted an opinion poll which indicated the Iranian nation’s satisfaction in the performance of the country’s Armed Forces.

In recent years, Iran has made great achievements in its defense sector and attained self-sufficiency in developing and manufacturing its essential needs to military tools, weapons, equipment and systems.

Tehran launched an arms development program during the 1980-88 Iraqi imposed war on Iran to compensate for a US weapons embargo. Since 1992, Iran has produced its own tanks, armored personnel carriers, missiles and fighter planes.

Yet, Iranian officials have always stressed that the country’s military and arms programs serve defensive purposes and should not be perceived as a threat to any other country.

On Friday, Iranian Ground Force Commander Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan underlined preparedness of the country’s armed forces to confront any possible threat of the enemy.

“Iranian Armed Forces’ capabilities are in proportion to the enemies’ threats,” Brigadier General Pourdastan told FNA.

He noted that the country’s Armed Forces were proud that they could design all their defense equipment inside the country.

In relevant remarks earlier this month, Commander of Khatam ol-Anbia Air Defense Base Brigadier General Farzad Esmayeeli underlined that the country’s Air Defense shields were fully prepared to repel any enemy threat.

“A solid air defense shield covering an area of 3,600 points of the Iranian air space has ensured full defense of the Iran’s skies,” Brigadier General Esmayeeli told reporters.

He noted that the Iranian Air Defense’s current status was attributed to the capabilities of the country’s Armed Forces.
