Army Makes Fresh Gains in Eastern Damascus

The Syrian Army soldiers engaged in an intense battle with the terrorists and liberated an important part of Jobar district in the Eastern outskirts of Damascus on Wednesday.

The army troops attacked terrorists’ strongholds in the Northwestern sector of the embattled Jobar and captured some 10 buildings in an advance which seemingly cements the siege of al-Qaboun and Barzeh districts.

In the meantime, the Syrian army warplanes destroyed terrorists’ operating room and communications system in the Jobar neighborhood.

The air force also bombed the militants’ positions in Bir al-Qassab East of the capital, killing a military commander of the terrorists called Adnan al-Khuli.

A military source in Eastern Ghouta reported that the army is advancing towards Tura River in Jobar and is spreading its control over 4 important building blocks that were used to be occupied by the terrorists, killing and injuring a number of the militants that were mostly from the Al-Nusra Front (also known as Fatah al-Sham Front or the Levant Liberation Board).

Reports said on Tuesday that the army troops continued to drive the Al-Nusra Front out of more positions in the Eastern and Northeastern territories of Damascus province, killing over 800 terrorists in two battlefields.

The army forces engaged in fierce clashes with Al-Nusra in a region between the districts of Jobar and al-Qaboun and seized control over al-Mar river that is behind al-Abbaseen region.

Well-informed sources said that over 800 Al-Nusra terrorists have been killed in the battles with the army soldiers in Jobar and al-Qaboun.

The sources added that the army has made use of advanced arms and missiles in the battle against the terrorists in Jobar and al-Qaboun.
