Arrogant powers seek to dominate ME

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has warned against plots hatched by arrogant powers to cause a rift among regional nations with the purpose of dominating the Middle East region.
Enemies intend to cause a gap and split nations in the region through spreading propaganda, said President Ahmadinejad in a meeting with top Afghan parliamentarians in the Iranian capital, Tehran, on Monday.

Arrogant powers and enemies of Iran and Afghanistan seek to damage mutual relations because they think that they should “dominate the Middle East in order to dominate the world,” he added, IRNA reported.

The Iranian chief executive emphasized that hegemonic powers seek to plunder resources and assets of all nations through economic approaches and stated, “Arrogant powers are drawing plans to put obstacles in the way of development of regional countries to keep regional countries under their control.”

He further said that Afghanistan enjoys great opportunities to make progress in different fields and pointed out that enemies are not interested in the establishment of an independent Afghanistan which will place no room for the plundering of foreign powers.

President Ahmadinejad added that both the Iranian and Afghan nations shoulder a historical responsibility to resist against hegemonic powers through their unity.

He expressed Iran’s readiness to cooperate with the Afghan government and parliament to develop the war-torn country.
