Asia Cooperation Dialogue Conference to open May 9

Asia Cooperation Dialogue Conference will be held here from May 9-10 with 25 countries in attendance, said the deputy minister of culture and Islamic guidance affairs for cinematic affairs.

Javad Shamaqdari added that the Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) was inaugurated in Thailand in June 2002 in a session where 18 Asian foreign ministers met together for the first time.

The event will pave the way for further cooperation among member states in cultural and social domains, he noted.

He also added that ACD comprises 31 members that except Russia, all are Asian countries.

The Asia Cooperation Dialogue Conference will mainly seek to promote cultural and artistic cooperation among the member states. It will also provide an opportunity for them to get acquainted with their cultural and artistic capacities, Shamaqdari said.
