At least 4 UAE soldiers killed in west Yemen since start of Hodeideh battle

The Ministry of Defense for United Arab Emirates (UAE) announced this week that four of their servicemen were killed during the battle of Hodeideh in west Yemen.

The four Emirati servicemen were killed during the first days of “Operation Restoring Hope,” which is a military offensive that is led by Yemeni pro-government troops along the west coast of Yemen.

Following the death of these servicemen, Lt. General Hamad Mohammed Thani Al Rumaithi, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the United Arab Emirates, offered his condolences to the families of these military personnel on Friday.

The four servicemen were identified by the UAE’s WAM News Agency as Khlifa Saif Sa’eed Al-Khatri of Ras Al-Khaimah, 1st Warrant Officer ‘Ali Mohammad Rashid Al-Hassani of Al-‘Ain, 1st Corporal ‘Obaid Hamdan Sa’eed Al-‘Abdouli, and Sergeant Khamis ‘Abdullah Al-Zayoudi of Fujairah.

The UAE is currently playing an important role in Operation Restoring Hope, as their advisors and warplanes continue to back the pro-government forces near the strategic coastal city of Hodeideh.
