At least five Palestinians have been wounded when Israeli forces stormed the house of a local Hamas leader in the city of Jenin, north of the occupied West Bank.

The Israeli troops surrounded the house of Majdi Abu al-Heija of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas late on Monday and arrested him along with his brother and son.

According to local media outlets, Heija’s home was destroyed during the raid.

An Israeli soldier was also critically wounded in the clashes.

In a similar raid earlier in August, Israeli soldiers stormed a number of Palestinian homes in the town of Ya’bad in Jenin. The attack prompted the Palestinians to pour to streets of the town and hurl stones at the intruders and the Israeli forces used teargas and stun grenades against the locals.

Israeli forces regularly storm Palestinian villages, farms, and houses, inflicting physical damage and psychological trauma.

International organizations and human rights groups say the Tel Aviv regime continues to enforce restrictions on the freedom of movement of Palestinians in the West Bank and other occupied territories.
