Attacking Syria has dire consequences

639672_thumIran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African countries says creating a buffer zone in Syria would complicate the situation.
Hossein Amir Abdollahian, who was talking to Al Alam, warned Syrian opposition fighters and its supporting countries about the dire consequences of attacking Syria on the region.

“With knowledge we have about Syria and the region, we can say that unpredictable and surprising event would befall Syrian opposition if any attack is launched against Syria,” said Abdollahian.

“Super-regional and regional players have made Syria to a haven for extremism and Al-Qaeda and spreading the violence to all the region,” he added, saying that “ and now, they want to have Syria enter to another war to reach an outcome in their previous actions.”

Abdollahian pointed out that since long, reports of using chemical weapons were heard in Syria, adding that “according to authentic information provided for us, some foreign players have equipped the terrorist groups with facilities useful in application of chemicals against Syrian government and people, to create enough atmosphere conducive for foreign intervention in Syria through propaganda.”

“If the US launches attack against Syria, according to information, Syria, having enough warfare, it will defend us on its own,” he emphasized. Commenting on the dispatching of forces to Syria by Iran and Lebanese Hezbollah, Abdollahian said that “during past decades, Iraq has been occupied by the US and UK for nine years, and US officials accused Iran of interfering in Iraqi affairs.”

“We frequently communicated the message to them that if their claim was true, the US should provide evidence, but they did not,” added he. “Sending humanitarian aid to Syria is still being carried out by Iran, however Syria does not need any forces, and neither us feel any necessity to send forces in the name of the Islamic Republic of Iran or even in the name of our friends such as Hezbollah,” he asserted.
