Ayat. Jannati urges Muslim states to rush aid to Somalia

Substitute Friday prayers leader of Tehran Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati on Friday called on Muslim states not to remain indifferent towards the draught-stricken people of Somalia.
Delivering his second Friday prayers sermon, Ayatollah Jannati said 12 million suffer draught in Somalia, two million of them facing death.

Noting that each eight seconds a Somalian child loses his/her life, the Ayatollah said cholera and other diseases are spreading in the country, so any measure taken to help people of the country would be appreciated.

However, cruel countries are indifferent towards the status quo, though being aware of condition of people in the country, said Ayatollah adding that if Muslim states send their aid to the people no one will die of hunger and disease in the draught-stricken country.

He said Iranian people wherever they are have welcomed donation of aid, to whom one should be thankful.
