Ayatollah Araki hails nomination of Muslim Unity Week

Grand Ayatollah Mohsen Araki, Secretary General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought stressed than naming of a week as the Muslim Unity Week by late Ayatollah Rouhollah Khomeini (RA) was not a political motto rather it was based on an important ideological fact, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

Ayatollah Araki, giving a speech prior to the Friday Prayer sermon in Tehran, to congratulate the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and Imam Sadeq (AS), sixth Shia Imam and grandson of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), and said, “Proposing the Muslim Unity Week by the Islamic Republic of Iran was based on religious and belief basis and we believe an Islamic nation cannot be a disunited one since Islam necessitates unity.”

He noted that the path of dispersion and disunity is quit by the people of the scripts and that this path is the result of ignoring the holy books and religious leaders.

Prominent Iranian cleric also noted that a community of true believers cannot be a disunited nation and said,” Once we intend to have a proper understanding of Muslim unity then we have to study the relation of an Islamic nation with Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).”

Ayatollah Araki added,” Prophet of Islam made a great effort for humanity by launching an Islamic nation and the greatest creation in the world, after the creation of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), who is a blessing for the world, is Imam Ali (AS), first Shia Imam, who was also raised by the Prophet of Islam (PBUH).”

“Grand Prophet of Islam (PBUH), raised people who were both unconquerable and just even towards their enemies.” he said and referred to Imam Ali (AS) and household of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), as examples that stand as standards of people raised by grand Prophet’s school of thought.

Secretary General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought reiterated if anyone intends to find the truth of Islam and Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), then he has to study the life of Imam Ali (AS) and Hazrat Fatemeh (SA), daughter of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and wife of Imam Ali (AS), because they are the great achievements of creation of man.”

He also stressed the importance of a better understanding of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and his holy household.

According to the Muslim scholar the nation that is hailed by the late founder of Islamic Revolution and also the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, for whom the Muslim Unity Week is formed is the nation of affection, love and obedience saying,” Such a nation is the unified nation because is it possible that a nation follows and loves a single leader and that nation is disunited?”

Top cleric also referred to the schedules for the upcoming Muslim Unity Week and said,” World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought will open the great event by marking the Friday in Muslim Unity Week as the International Day of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) to unveil the flag for the unified Islamic community.”

He also counted the 26th International Muslim Unity Conference with the theme of the high character of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) on 27-28th of January, paying tribute to grand Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri, former secretary general of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought and also holding poetry reading sessions and meeting of the international participants of the Muslim Unity Conference with the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei as the other parts of the schedules for Muslim Unity Week.
