Ayatollah Rafsanjani: Restrictive polices back fires

2584198-3673991Chairman of the Expediency Council Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani said on Tuesday that restrictive and monolog policies back fires.

Rafsanjani made the remarks in a meeting with secretary general and board of instructors of Islamic Society of Universities. The university instructors are propagators of religious and scientific thoughts at universities, he said.

Rafsanjani said that balance of science and technology has undergone a major shift in the international community, citing the achievements Iranian academic centers and the breakthrough Iran made over the past decade in science and technology.

He called for close cooperation of the academics with theologians and said that the universities are expected to develop systematic cooperation with the theology centers to advance the lofty goals of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

He said that Iran has set up advanced research centers involved in studying the latest developments in the international community and take accurate decisions to ensure national interest, peace and security.

“If we fail to predict global events, we would lose the opportunities and that the distance between universities and theological schools will widen,” he said.

He said that the Islamic Republic of Iran is the vanguard of progress in information technology, adding that it is not possible to stand idle. ˈRather, all should adapt themselves to the global and scientific progress,ˈ Rafsanjani said.

The extremist groups such as al-Qaeda destroyed direct relationship between freedom and democracy in the regional countries giving a boost to dictatorship, he said.
