Turkey to host Iranian film festival

Iran is planning to hold a festival of Iranian movies in two Turkish cities of Izmir and Istanbul to introduce the country’s cinematic art.

A number of acclaimed Iranian cinematic productions have been selected to be screened at Istanbul’s Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts and Izmir’s Yasar University.

Private Life of Mr. and Mrs. M and Amongst the Clouds by Rouhollah Hejazi, Someone Wanna Talk to You by Manouchehr Hadi, I Feel Sleepy directed by Reza Attaran and Here without Me by Bahram Tavakkoli are among the event’s film lineup.

I am His Wife by Mostafa Shayesteh and The Poor by Mohammad Reza Arab are also to represent Iran’s cinema at the festival. The selected movies will be screened with Turkish subtitles.

Organized by the Iranian cultural attaché’s office in Istanbul and Iran’s Visual Media Institute, the festival is scheduled to take place from December 10 through13.

Iran had earlier held several cinematic programs in various Turkish cities such as Bursa, Istanbul and Izmir. The events were warmly received by Turkish film lovers.
