Bahar phones family of Ahed Tamimi, hails their fortitude

Ahmed Bahar, first deputy speaker of the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC), has applauded Ahed al-Tamimi, a girl child detained by Israel, and her family members for their steadfastness and great role in resisting the Israeli occupation in the West Bank.

During a telephone conversation with Tamimi’s uncle on Tuesday, Bahar valued the Palestinian popular struggle against the occupation in all areas of the West Bank and stressed the need to continue the intifada (uprising) throughout Palestine.

In another context, Bahar called, in a press release, on the international community to protect the families of Palestinian prisoners against Israel’s aggressive practices.

He condemned Likud MK Oren Hazan’s act of bullying on Monday against relatives of prisoners aboard a Red Cross bus as a “serious incident and violation,” affirming that the issue of detainees would remain high on the agenda of the PLC.
