Bahrain Rejects Appeals of 13 Citizens Accused of Killing Pakistani

Bahrain-court

A Bahraini court on Monday rejected the appeals of 13 men accused of killing a Pakistani during the 2011 unrest.

The 13 men were convicted of killing the 34-year-old Pakistani Abdul Malik Ghulam Rasool on March 13, 2011 and were sentences for 15 years in prison.

Prosecutors claimed that the Pakistani had been stabbed by anti- government protesters and was left to die in the heart of Bahraini capital of Manama.

The Bassiouni fact-finding committee created by the Bahraini monarchy accused the regime of torturing protesters and cracking down on them. However, no serious measures of punishment have been taken yet.

Bahraini people started their peaceful revolution in February 14, 2011. But Al-Khalifa security forces practiced their brutal offensive against demonstrators and called for the military assistance of Gulf Cooperation Council.
