Bahrainis to Stage Rally on Sunday to Show Solidarity with Palestinians

The Bahraini people plan to stage a rally on Sunday to show their solidarity and support for the oppressed Palestinians who have been under the Israeli regime’s increasing attacks in the last few days.

The demonstrations will be held as Bahraini February 14 Youth Coalition has called for popular protests across the tiny Persian Gulf island to show anger at both the barbaric aggression of the Zionist regime on the Gaza Strip and the silence of the international community on the Israeli atrocities.

The Bahraini people also held a sit-in after their Friday Prayers yesterday, condemning the Zionist regime’s brutal attacks on the Gaza Strip, and called on the international community to bring an end to the massacre of the defenseless Palestinian people by the Israeli regime.

Assaults on Gaza started on Wednesday when the Israeli military launched a series of new air and sea attacks against the Palestinians in the coastal territory.

Ahmed al-Ja’abari, the popular and influential head of the Hamas military wing, the Ezzedeen al-Qassam Brigades, was assassinated in an Israeli attack on his car on Wednesday with the help of zionist puppet Qatari Emir.

On Friday, Ahmed Abu Jalal, a field commander of the Ezzedeen al-Qassam Brigades, was also killed in an Israeli airstrike on the central Gaza district of Maghazi.

Over 41 people have been killed and more than 350 others injured in the new wave of Israeli attacks.

At least nine Palestinian children have been killed and over 60 injured in Israeli airstrikes since Wednesday, according to the UN.

An 11-month-old boy and a pregnant woman are among the dead.

The UN special body for the protection of children has called for an immediate end to the bloodshed. “I call on all parties to immediately stop the violence and to fully respect their obligations under international humanitarian law to protect girls and boys from the fighting,” said the Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Children and Armed Conflict, Ms Leila Zerrougui.
