A bomb blast has rocked Pakistan’s volatile southwestern province of Balochistan, leaving four people dead and 18 others injured.

According to Pakistani media reports, the bomb attack was carried out in the town of Sibi, about 130 kilometers (81 miles) southeast of the provincial capital, Quetta, on Sunday.

“The bomb was planted in a motorbike. We are investigating the possible targets but we have not found any specific target yet,” said senior police official Ghulam Ali Baluch.

No group or individual has so far claimed responsibility for the fatal bomb attack, but Baloch separatists seeking greater autonomy have been waging militancy in the province for years.

Balochistan is largely known for its rich resources of gas and mineral wealth, but also for its widespread anti-government militancy.

Militants started their fifth insurgency against the state over a decade ago. Hundreds of soldiers and militants were killed in the clashes since 2004.

Pakistan accuses neighboring India of having a hand in the militancy, with some describing it as New Delhi’s response to Islamabad’s alleged interference in Kashmir.
