Basij Units to Stage Massive Wargames in Southern Iran
Iran’s Basij (volunteer) force plans to stage massive wargames in the country’s Southern province of Hormozgan on Thursday and Friday to test its defense capabilities.

Speaking to FNA, Lieutenant Commander of Basji Force Colonel Nasrallah Seif said that Basij forces will stage the ‘Towards Beitol-Moqaddas (Jerusalem)’ drills throughout the province on Thursday and Friday (January 24-25).

He added that Basij forces plan to exercise street defense tactics.

Earlier this month, Seif had announced that Iran’s Basij force plans to stage a series of exercises in 8 provinces in the next two months to test their defense capabilities.

The commander said at the time that Basij would continue training of its units to promote the power of its forces for confrontation against enemies’ hard, semi-hard and soft threats, and this will continue “until we will rest assured that there is no more threat against the Islamic Republic ruling system”.

So far, 21 similar exercises, codenamed ‘Towards Beitol-Moqaddas (Jerusalem)’, have been held throughout Iran to promote Basij forces’ power in confrontation against potential enemy threats against the country.
