Lebanon’s Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri said here on Thursday that portraying the Islamic Republic of Iran as an enemy of Arabs is a plot serving the Zionist regime.

Berri’s remarks was read during a commemoration ceremony on the occasion of the demise anniversary of the Father of the Islamic Revolution the late Imam Khomeini on June 4 in Beirut.

He said victory of the Islamic Revolution led by Imam Khomeini has changed the course of the region and the world.

Berri added the Islamic Republic of Iran is duty-bound to fully support the resistance of the oppressed Palestinian nation and would continue its support until the rights of Palestinians are fuly vindicated.

Referring to the plots against Syria, he said the Syrian government has been attacked by imperialists due to its support for the resistance of Lebanese and Palestinian nations.

Berri underlined that imperialists are worry about Iran and Syria relations and their supports from the resistance of Palestine and Lebanon.

He added the American-Zionist plan is aimed at forcing Syria to stop supporting resistance in Palestine and Lebanon.
