Bomb explosion on Israeli bus

An explosion has hit an Israeli bus in the occupied Palestinian territories, but no one has been killed or injured.

The explosion, caused by “a suspicious object”, took place on Sunday near Tel Aviv.

According to a spokesman for the bus company, “There were about 12 passengers on the bus. The driver stopped immediately when he was alerted to a suspicious object. It was a bag on the back bench, and he immediately ordered everyone off.”

Reports say that the Israeli police cordoned off the area and launched an investigation into the incident.

In November 2012, a bomb explosion ripped through a bus in Tel Aviv near the Israeli Ministry of Military Affairs, injuring at least 15 people.

In 2011, a bomb blast at a bus stop in al-Quds (Jerusalem) killed a tourist and injured over 30 others.
