Boroujerdi: Venezuela good model for expansion of Iran-Mexico ties

Chairman of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi said on Wednesday that Venezuela is a good model for expansion of cooperation between Iran and Mexico.

Boroujerdi and his entourage conferred with President of the Mexican Senate, Miguel Barbosa Huerta on expansion of relations and cooperation between the two countries.

Boroujerdi conveyed the greetings of Iran’s Majlis Speaker Ali Larijnai to President of the Mexican Senate, Miguel Barbosa Huerta and felicitated him on the chairmanship of the Senate.

They discussed expansion of all-out as well as parliamentary cooperation, the regional, political developments and Iran’s nuclear negotiations with the G5+1.

This year is the 50th anniversary of establishment of relations between the two countries, Boroujerdi said calling for expansion of all-out relations in light of excellent cooperation between the Iranian and Mexican parliaments.

President of the Mexican Senate, for his part, thanked the Iranian parliamentary delegation for the visit and said Iran is the cradle of rich civilization and the Islamic Republic of Iran is regarded as a successful model which should be referred to.

Mexico is on the exposure of terrorism and drug-trafficking bandits and the country is ready to put its experiences at disposal of the Islamic Republic of Iran, he said.

In a separate meeting, Boroujerdi met with Mexico vice-president of Senate on expansion of mutual relations as well as regional and global cooperation.
