After February protests in Sarajevo, citizens decided to form a working group called Sarajevo Citizens Plenum to discuss their demands from the government. Since the beginning of the plenum’s work, thousands of proposals and requests were processed. They mainly focused on social issues, education, fiscal policy and health.
The latest working meeting of Sarajevo citizens was in question since citizens were not allowed to enter the Youth House, where meeting was supposed to occur. However, the citizens’ persistence paid off and at the end the working meeting was held. Requests presented in this meeting were classified into two major sections. The first request referred to restoring reputation of educational institutions and other for the complete depolarization of educational institutions at all levels. Citizens also asked for free education “from kindergarten to university”. Some of the requests made by the citizens have already been accepted by the local government. Sarajevo citizens, disgruntled with the attitude of government and living conditions in their country, gathered for another working meeting to discuss their demands from the current government. Such meetings have become a voice of democracy in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
