Breaking: Syrian Army captures Jabal Al-Nuba in northern Latakia as the Islamists retreat towards Turkey

Syrian Arab Army’s 103rd Brigade of the Republican Guard and Muqawama Souri (Syrian Resistance) – imposed full control over the strategic Al-Nuba Mountains (Jabal Al-Nuba) after a week long battle with the terrorists from Jabhat Al-Nusra (Syrian Al-Qaeda group) and the Free Syrian Army (FSA) in Latakia Governorate’s northern countryside.

Accoridng to a battlefield reporter with the SAA’s 103rd Brigade in northern Latakia, the Syrian Armed Forces captured all of the points along the Al-Nuba Mountains when Jabhat Al-Nusra’s frontlines became fractured; this forced the aforementioned Islamist group to retreat north in order to evade the swarming pro-government soldiers.

The Syrian Armed Forces have made it evident that their massive Latakia offensive is primarily to seal off both the Idlib Governorate and Turkish borders with this province, leaving no entry for the Islamist rebels of Jabhat Al-Nusra and the Free Syrian Army.

Much of the success this morning in northern Latakia is due to the accurate airstrikes conducted by the Russian Air Force; these airstrikes have wrecked havoc on the Islamist rebel defenses.
