Breaking: Terrorist counter-offensive in Idlib plays right into Syrian Army trap, terrorists annihilated

On Thursday morning, jihadist militias launched a counter-offensive against the Syrian Arab Army and allied paramilitary groups in the southeastern countryside of Idlib province. In the event, the rebel attackers walked into a trap set by elite Syrian troops and from this a massacre of insurgent ranks followed.

The day-break hours of Thursday morning witnessed the Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated Ahrar al-Sham jihadist group attack Syrian Army defenses at the towns of Khuwayn and Atshan, located along the Idlib-Hama provincial border.

Although the attack seemed to be going well at first, the jihadist attacker in fact walked into a trap set up by elite Syrian troops of the Tiger Forces Division.

The result was a massacre of militant ranks in which fifty rebel fighters were killed after advancing into multiple kill-zones of inter-crossing machine gun and artillery fire set up by Syrian forces in and around Khuwayn and Atshan.

Whether or not firefights for both or either towns are still ongoing between Ahrar al-Sham and the Syrian Army is not clear at this point.
