British MP Galloway to make feature movie entitled “The Killing of Tony Blair”

George Galloway, British MP for Bradford

In a bid to bring Britain’s former prime minister Tony Blair before an international court to be tried for war crimes, the outspoken Respect MP for Bradford, George Galloway is due to shoot a documentary entitled “The Killing of Tony Blair”.

Galloway says he was inspired by American filmmaker Michael Moore, who exposed U.S. former president George W. Bush’s atrocities following September 11 terrorist attacks and his so-called war on terror, in a documentary called “Fahrenheit 9/11”.

He intends to replicate Moore’s technique of ambushing unwilling interviewees by confronting Blair and other prominent New Labour figures.

Referring to the title, he has chosen for his feature movie, Galloway said it was chosen for “shock value”, since Blair’s was a “shocking story”.

Tony Blair committed three types of killing during and after his tenure, the Respect MP said.

First, according to Galloway, Blair “killed” the Labour party, now in opposition as part of the UK governing system, through his attempts to make it up-to-date. Second, Blair’s involvement in the 2003 invasion of Iraq resulted in the death of hundreds of thousands of civilians. And thirdly, the former premier committed a “financial killing” since leaving office, the MP for Bradford added.

Galloway and Greg Ward, the film’s co-director, have appealed to the public to help them fund the project financially by contributing through the crowd-funding website Kickstarter.

George Galloway was expelled from the Labour Party in 2003 after he fiercely rapped Blair and his decision to go to war in Iraq.

Later, he founded his own Respect Party and won the elections to represent Bradford at the parliament.
