13 children hurt in school fire in NW Pakistan

Thirteen children were injured when fire broke out in a private school located in Nothia area of Northwestern city of Peshawar on Thursday, local media reported.

According to reports, fire started to engulf the classrooms of a private school due to short circuit that occurred in a mobile tower fixed within the school boundary.

As a result of blaze, thirteen children received burn injuries who were shifted to Lady Reading Hospital for treatment.

Fire brigades and rescue teams reached the site soon after receiving the news.

Meanwhile, one person was killed and two others sustained injuries in a hand grenade attack in a house in port city of Karachi.

According to reports, some unidentified armed men ridding on motorcycles started indiscriminate fire in Mashki Para near Manghopir police station and later hurled hand grenade at a house, killing one inmate and injuring two others.
